We developed an AR application that takes visitors back into the past to learn first-hand about the tragic stories of WWI soldiers. After all, it is difficult to image that such a dark story is hidden in the middle of breathtaking nature. We hope that these stories, presented in an innovative way with the help of augmented reality, will re-introduce distant and half-forgotten history to visitors to the Russian Chapel and remind them of how lucky they are to be able to live in peace. The young men who found their final resting place below Vršič did not die in vain. Their message is: never again.
